The Jane Coffin Childs Memorial
Fund provides support in the form of fellowships to young postdoctoral
scientists conducting research into the causes, origins and treatment of
cancer. Fellowships are awarded for three years and carry a basic annual
stipend of $25,000 in the first year, $26,000 in the second and $27,000 in the
third year, with an additional $750 available for each dependent child. An
allowance of $1,500 a year is usually made available to the sponsoring
laboratory for the Fellow's research expenses. Candidates in general should not
have more than one year of postdoctoral experience. They must hold either the
M.D. degree or the Ph.D. degree in the field in which they propose to study or
furnish evidence of equivalent training and experience. American citizens may

are made for one to three years with progressive stipends of $37,000, $39,000,
and $42,000 per year, plus a $2,000 per year institutional allowance. Annually,
the Society selects three Fellows to receive the following special awards: the
John Peter Hoffman Fellowship to a top-ranked application in any research area
and the Ann L. Siegel and Jean and Harold Grossman Fellowships to the two
highest ranked applications in breast cancer research. Each of these special

The Wills Foundation
